All I Know

When someone accepts Christ’s call and welcomes Him into their heart, the change that takes place is often difficult to explain. Priorities shift, values transform, perspectives broaden, and much more. It can feel overwhelming at times, but in the end, as Mary Magdalene proclaimed when she was asked about the incredible change after her miraculous transformation by Jesus, “ALL I KNOW is that I was one way, and now I am another.

Even after her transformation, she continued to be haunted by her former demons and occasionally slipped backward. Yet, Jesus saved her again. It’s important to understand that it’s not unforgivable to sin even after we accept Christ. In fact, I like to say, “Now we are a blip on Satan’s radar,” meaning that as long as we were living “in the world,” we posed no threat to Satan’s plan to take down as many souls as he can. But once we declare ourselves children of God and “born again,” Satan wants to destroy us, using our failures as a witness against us.

Consider how many prominent Christian leaders have been caught in scandals through the years and the impact their actions had on their followers. It’s far greater than the fall of just one person. We should be slow to judge these leaders, who are under more spiritual attacks than we can imagine. Instead, pray for ALL of them—for strength, discernment, and protection.
