I’ve often wondered what drives a person to take their own life. We all face challenges, but what is the tipping point? Then I think about the people I see every day. Who among them might be nearing their breaking point? Instead of wasting time on small talk, what if we truly asked each other how we’re doing and what we need?
After a funeral or memorial service, we often reflect on the time lost and the unfinished business in both the life of the person who passed and our own lives. Don’t assume that someone is fine just because they smile or say they are “good”. Be the kind of friend who truly knows and understands the needs of others.
